As part of the first ever Turkish Cinema Summer School programme, the young filmmakers from different parts of the world competed with each other with short films and photographs they shot during their two-week journey into the depths of the passage and history of Turkish cinema.

In the programme organized between 30th of July and 12th of August 2018, the participants presented their experience and observations in Istanbul and Turkey through the short films they shot. The filmmakers participated in the contest organized within the scope of the Summer School, with 11 movies, 4 screenplays and  2 photo stories they had compiled, at the end of the program.

The short movie by Mohamad Eskandarani from Lebanon was deemed worthy of “The Best Short Movie of the Turkish Cinema Summer School” award, while Fatıma Mouhammou from Morocco was awarded the “The Best Short Movie Introducing Yunus Emre Institute”.

The screenplay written by Alessandro Marzullo from Italy was awarded the “The Best Short Movie Screenplay Introducing Yunus Emre Institute”, while the photo story by Amalia Papa from Romania was awarded the “The Best Photo Story of Turkish Cinema Summer School”.

The President of the Institute, Prof. Şeref Ateş, presented the awards to the winners and he wished them success in their future endeavors.
